Zachary's quilt

Every generation of women in my family sew, we have amazing quilts that have been passed down but I was always scared to try a quilt. I am not a patient sewer but with Zachary's arrival I wanted to have something to work on. Here is the finished quilt. Hopefully I'll get more photos up soon of all that I did based on this pattern for his room.

 

This isn't the best photo of the finished quilt but it gives an idea of the whole thing...it was winter when I finished it so I couldn't take it outside for a photo shoot :)

Let's hear it for the boys photo challenge

This weeks theme was let's hear it for the boys...celebrating father's day. I instantly thought of this photo I took of my uncle Andy and his grand daughter! I love it. This is their special thing they do. I love the rustic background against the delicateness of Rouges pink jacket and the tender moment between only a grandpa and his princess.
